* Unforeseen Deadly Tragedy In O’Neal’s District *

Greetings and blessings! On this past Sunday evening after church around the 2 o’clock hour, we received a jaw dropping call from our grandbaby that was about to leave town. Unfortunately, it was very sad news of her uncle who was a good family man, a father, husband, brother, good friend and neighbor that had regretfully taken his life in an unprecedented and unimaginable way. And of course, most who had no factual details have created their own narrative, their own story without regards or respect to the families who are obviously distraught. So I’m begging and pleading that we don’t do that (to anyone) on assumptions, on I heard and on speculations. Yes, I saw the immediately family heartbreaking pain first hand because they are my family too and I was one of the first on the horrific scene. So be very careful what you say and do. You have no idea what the families are going through.

Therefore, be very mindful, it could have happened to any of us, you or me too. More so, unhinged gossip, unsubstantiated lies, doesn’t help a broken heart, but sincere prayer does!
Furthermore, this type situation leaves the completely innocent families with enough shame, blame, fault, guilt and unbearable pain to go around. Understandably the families are dealing with; “What if? I should’ve;” the why and all the other millions of things going through their mind right now. In fact, when it comes to the mind, there are no instructions. So people, if you don’t have something positive, uplifting or kind to say, perhaps, it’s a good time to say, absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, I’m fervently asking that we respect, pray for and support all families going through bereavement/loss of loved ones. Rightly so, all deaths are considerably loss but suicide leaves a lifelong stain, not realizing their loved ones’ pain. However, lets please, it’s essential we learn from this unforgettable rare experience; pay attention, listen more and talk less. Don’t be reluctant to reach out, to say something or do something. In fact, readers, there are help available 24/7! Call GA Mental Crisis 1-800-715-4225 or text 988. Perhaps something said will make a difference, help and not hurt. With sincere blessings to my family, dwell on and say the Serenity Prayer, it will give you peace and calmness! “Lord, grant me the Serenity [calmness and peacefulness] to accept the things, that I cannot change; The Courage to change the things I can change; And the Wisdom to know the difference!” May God’s, Mercy and Love be with you!
