Sports Complex Named in Honor Of Retired Superintendent Catrett

On Tuesday, Apr. 21 the Talbot Board of Education, Central Elementary-High School administration and staff dedicated the sports complex located on Tyler Street to former superintendent Dr. Jack Catrett.
Their sports complex was named the Dr. James “Jack’ Franklin Catrett, III Complex to honor Dr. Jack Catrett, for his 13 years of hard work and dedication to the students and community of Talbot County and its school district.

On Tuesday, Apr. 21 the Talbot Board of Education, Central Elementary-High School administration and staff dedicated the sports complex located on Tyler Street to former superintendent Dr. Jack Catrett.
Their sports complex was named the Dr. James “Jack’ Franklin Catrett, III Complex to honor Dr. Jack Catrett, for his 13 years of hard work and dedication to the students and community of Talbot County and its school district.
The Talbot County Board of Education members, Central Elementary-High School administration and staff and other associates shared fond memories shared by them with Catrett  and praised his hard work and dedication.
When he first came to the Talbot School District he raised the graduation rate from below 20% to a astonishing 84.5% – 96% graduation rate.
Students and staff shared their love for him and praised him for his commitment to the school system and its students.
Many thanked him for his demonstrated act of kindness and leadership provided and noted the sport complex is a place where character, team work and pride would be built and where the community would benefit there for many years to come.
The sports complex was one of many accomplishments by Dr. Catrett during his tenure with the School District.
This was the School System’s, and community’s, way of saying thank you Dr. Jack Catrett.
